Hello DK community. It has come to my attention that our community member Joy Thompson (Joieau) passed away in November 2022 following a heart attack. Joy worked as a radiation monitoring technician at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant near Falmouth Pennsylvania following the meltdown there in 1979. Joieau was a very active member of our community and a staunch critic of the nuclear power industry and anti-nuclear weapons proliferation activist. While we did not see eye to eye on environmental radioactivity monitoring and risk assessment I valued her opinion and, although we never met in person, will miss her contributions to this community.
